Mission

The Operator Supervisor is in charge of all day-to-day field operations for all operational routes. This includes providing direction and oversight to all employees to maintain high levels of efficiency and customer service. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: planning, directing and assignment of work, coaching and mentoring employees, providing counseling and/or discipline as necessary and exercises discretion and judgement when resolving operational complexities and employee complaints.

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following  


• Consciously creates a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall

• Assists staff to proactively address questions and ensures proper handling of

    customer issues or concerns.

• Maintains transparent communication with all levels of the organization to include

   staff, leadership, and the client.

• Reviews and analyzes daily operational reports to ensure service goals are met.

• Maintains operational service levels by enforcing quality and customer service

   standards and resolves quality and customer service problems, identifies and

   analyzes trends and provides recommendations for operational improvements.

• Receives incoming calls on telephone and radio communications systems.

• Dispatches and coordinates the use of vehicle and driver resources to meet daily

   operational schedules.

• Prepares trip reservation assignments to operators.

• Assists with the schedule writing and maintaining accurate records.

• Assists, plans, and manages additional events that are required for operational

   services.

• Answers incoming calls to provide information to patrons concerning bus schedules

    and other trip information.

• Counts and completes daily receipts, cash if applicable and maintains accurate

   records.

• Reviews & analyzes road conditions, traffic flow, vehicle, and driver availability, and

    other pertinent operational factors to determine daily trip scheduling capacity.

• Determines & implements adjustments to schedules and routes based on various

    information available concerning routes and customer service needs, as necessary.

• Responds to employee complaints and concerns and provides recommendations

   for disciplinary actions.

• Delivers coaching and discipline to employees

   based upon review of the employees’ records and

   RATP Dev policies and the collective bargaining agreement.

• Investigates accidents and incidents ensuring proper handling of the investigation

    and documentation.

• Analyzing findings from investigations of accidents and incidents, determines the

   preventability of the accidents and incidents, and provides recommendations to

   Safety concerning the level of discipline to issue if necessary.

• Operate all modes of service and support vehicles in a safe manner, and when

   Applicable

 

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the operational characteristics of buses.

• Knowledge of dispatching functions including scheduling, routing, use of pertinent

   forms,

• records, and applicable regulations and procedures.

• Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.

• Ability to make rapid and accurate arithmetic computations.

• Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively carry out written and oral

   instructions.

• Ability to multi-task and handle various tasks at once.

• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.

• Ability to keep simple records accurately.

• Ability to gain knowledge of the geography of The Midlands.

 

Preferred Education, Residency, and Experience:

• High School or GED required.

• Previous dispatch experience, preferred.

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must have a valid Class A/B Commercial Driver License, with passenger

   endorsements.

• Must demonstrate a stable work history. Applicants should be prepared to provide

   additional

• employer information in cases where previous employment cannot be otherwise

   verified.

 

Driving Record

• Driving records must not reflect moving violations within the last 3 years.

• Have a safe driving record with no DUI conviction during the past ten (10) years,

• third party multi-state record check and no felony

   convictions for violent crimes.

• Criminal and Pre-Employment Background Record.

 $25.50/HR
