Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Shifts: 8–12 hours, based on scheduling needs
Workweek: 40 hours per week with potential overtime
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety‑oriented Bus Driver (CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement) to join our transportation team. This front‑line role ensures that riders receive safe, courteous, and efficient service every day. Shifts fall within our operating window of 6 AM to 6 PM, with schedules ranging from 8 to 12 hours depending on operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality customer service as the primary point of contact for passengers.
- Safely operate buses of various sizes in light to heavy city and freeway traffic.
- Transport passengers courteously along scheduled routes, stopping only at designated locations unless directed otherwise by Dispatch.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to bus operation, safety, and traffic laws.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience and uphold company service standards.
- Assist passengers—including individuals with disabilities—with boarding, exiting, wheelchair lift operation, and safety restraints.
- Promote and follow all company safety procedures to minimize accidents and incidents.
- Safely and effectively use all onboard equipment (farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, engine compartment door, etc.).
- Perform pre‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIRs in compliance with FMCSR standards.
- Report detours, incidents, and accidents to dispatch and follow instructions as needed.
- Use sound judgment to make independent decisions in accordance with training, safety guidelines, and policy.
- Follow procedures regarding fare collection, passenger counts, and related documentation.
- Report, document, and follow up on all unusual events or accidents involving RATP Dev vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required.
- Must pass a DOT physical exam.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong focus on safety, customer service, and reliability.
