Mission
We are looking for a skilled and safety‑focused Mechanic B to join our team. If you have hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing buses, trucks, or heavy equipment — and you're ready to grow your career — we want to hear from you.
Profile
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles and equipment with minimal supervision
- Inspect and service brake, fuel, emission, driveline, steering, and suspension systems
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting using tools like Cummins Insite and Allison DOC
- Complete preventative maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, CNG inspections, battery service, etc.
- Repair/maintain engines (gas, diesel, alternative fuel), transmissions, differentials, cooling systems
- Install, repair, and adjust ADA equipment, HVAC systems, lighting, gauges, and safety devices
- Conduct emission diagnostics and repairs
- Perform light fabrication: welding, grinding, soldering
- Maintain accurate electronic repair orders
- Perform road calls and assist lower‑level technicians
- Test‑drive buses, trucks, and support vehicles to confirm repairs
- Backfill supervisory duties as needed
What You Need
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years vocational/technical schooling or equivalent experience
- 1+ year progressive heavy equipment or fleet maintenance experience (preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- CDL Class B with air brakes & passenger endorsements (required)
- EPA 609 Air Conditioning Certification
- ASE Certifications: Minimum of 3 H or T series; at least 2 must be H2, T2, T4, or H4
Skills
- Ability to read/interpret schematics & technical manuals
- Experience with diagnostic software and electronic repair systems
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft applications)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to operate in a 24/7 environment (shift flexibility)
Tools & Requirements
- Must provide own hand tools
- Must pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol testing, and background screening
- No DUI/DWI, assault, or controlled substance convictions within the past 5 years
Sign-On Bonus
Mechanic B: $1,500
- 50% after 60 days
- 50% after 90 days
