Mission
Data Analyst is responsible for managing and collecting data for RATP Dev USA in North Charleston. This position reports to the Finance Director.
Profile
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble statistical data and compile reports in order to analyze transit service performance and make recommendations for new or revised services
- Formulates and supplies information for monthly dashboards, board reports, annual reports, and budget books
- Assist with the coordination of projects with other public transit and community transportation services
- Maintain effective working relationships with the operations, technical and administrative staff, local transit staff, various vendors and appropriate State and Federal officials.
- Assist with data collections for NTD reporting, this includes collecting and preparing statistical data obtained through GFI data or random NTD passenger counts and submitting information for NTD annual reports and for the OPSTATS (NCDOT) reports
- Monitor and analyze service performance using data from AVL, APC, GFI
- Oversee data management and input for Workers Compensation and insurance claims.
- Assist in preparation of invoices for counties’ transit plans
- Report data regarding service provided, service consumed, and service resources.
- Provide relevant transit statistics, such as Vehicle Revenue Hours (VRH), Vehicle Revenue Miles (VRM), Unlinked Passenger Trips (UPT), Passenger Miles Traveled (PMT), and the total number of individual vehicle boarding.
- Collect financial data, such as Operating Expenses (OE) for each mode operated and the sources of funds used to support transit service.
- Assemble data related to transit staffing levels and asset data for fleets and facilities.
- Conduct detailed analysis of data used across business units to evaluate and improve.
- Establish appreciation and adherence to data quality management principles, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
- Support tech teams with security mechanism management and data access governance.
- Review, utilize, and maintain current Federal Transit Authority processes and statistics.
- Provide relevant transit statistics, such as Vehicle Revenue Hours (VRH), Vehicle Revenue Miles (VRM), Unlinked Passenger Trips (UPT), Passenger Miles Traveled (PMT), and the total number of individual vehicle boardings.
- Collect financial data, such as Operating Expenses (OE) for each mode operated and the sources of funds used to support transit service.
- Perform advanced professional analysis and oversight of financial transit programs.
- Conduct detailed analysis of data used across business units to evaluate and improve.
- Respond to real-time data and product-related inquiries to support business and technical teams.
- Review, utilize, and maintain current Federal Transit Authority processes and statistics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends as required.
- Ability to develop program objectives and work independently on several program objectives at once.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with government officials, staff, and the general public
- A working understanding of PC's including Microsoft Office Packages.
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel
