Mission

·       Monitor Fixed Route, compliance with safety policies and best practices as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws pertaining to field operations. 

·       Follows and adheres to RATP Dev USA Drive2Zero program. 

·       Recommend and develop changes to policies, procedures, and programs that focus on improving the safety and efficiency of Fixed Route field operations. 

·       Respond to, assist in the investigation of code 10 accidents, and conduct hazard assessments associated with all vehicular accident activity. 

·       Investigate accident trends and conduct route safety reviews and recommend remedial solutions. 

·       Serve on the Accident Review Board for Fixed Route Services and facilitate the Fixed Route Operator safety committees. 

·       Conduct shadow rides and on-board rides for performance evaluation of bus operators. 

·       Assist the Safety/Training Manager/Director in the development of safety-related training information to be presented at appropriate meetings. 

·       Enter conformation into company software when applicable i.e (Fleet response, Safe Tracker, Triage now) 

·       Notify appropriate departments of worker’s compensation injuries and follow through with worker’s compensation claims. 

·       Plan and organize daily work routine, estimate expected time of completion of elements of work and establish personal schedule accordingly. Implement work activities in accordance with priorities and estimated schedule. 


Profile

The Safety Trainer supports the daily operation of Fixed Route field operations, ensuring safe operation of such services. This position reports and works closely with the Safety/Training Director located at the GoRaleigh: 4104 Poole Rd. Raleigh North Carolina.
