Mission

Our Maintenance Trainer plays a crucial role in the safe operation of our transit system. The Maintenance Trainer will be responsible for conducting and managing all training requirements within the maintenance department. Training will cover bus maintenance on various systems, and regulations including; Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) training; Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); CDL Driver Training, Farebox Probing, Fueling; Cleaning Requirements; and Servicing Transit Buses.

Profile

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be a certified Transit Bus ASE Master Technician.
  • Must have a Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of heavy transit bus maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening, DOT physical, and background check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with basic vehicle mechanical systems. Including but not limited to: Cummins Insite Engine Diagnostics Software, Allison Transmission Diagnostics, BAE Hybriddrive System, AVL/CAD Clever devices preferred, Luminator Destination Signs, Maintenance Management Software (RTA preferred), and ZONAR.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Standards and Regulations
  • Proven organizational, verbal, written, and relational communication skills with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including bus operators, customers, senior management, client representatives, and union officials.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and varied work schedules including early morning, late night, weekends, and holidays.

  • Frequently walks and or stands.
  • May be required to stoop, bend or kneel.
  • Occasionally remains in a sitting position at a desk.
  • Frequently uses the computer with  fingers and hands.
  • Frequently exposed to outside elements of extreme heat and cold.
  • Occasionally drives a motor vehicle.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes, odors, hazardous materials, dirt, and dust.
  • Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds when moving supplies.
