Responsibilities:
- Acts as a front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service.
- Safely operates several types of buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic safely and prudently.
- Board and drop-off passengers safely at designated bus stops in the order prescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the dispatch office.
- Complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the operation of buses, traffic and safety.
- Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includes helping customers with disabilities, on and off the bus utilizing the wheelchair lift.
- Assist with wheelchair securement as requested by the passenger.
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meet customer standards.
- Communicates detour, accident, and incident information utilizing a two-way radio with dispatch and responds to instructions given.
- Makes effective and independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training and policies.
- Follows procedures for the collection, processing, and documentation of fares and counting passengers as required.
- Reports and properly follow-up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near any company vehicle.
- Attends monthly safety meetings.
- Operates commercial vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, company policies, and established schedules while prioritizing passenger safety.
- Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections, noting any mechanical defects on a DVIR sheet.
- Complete reports accurately and legibly
- Reports all mechanical issues to appropriate personnel such as dispatch, maintenance and safety.
- Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid South Carolina Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
- Must have a good driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within a rolling 12-month period and/or no more than three (3) moving violations within a rolling 36-month period.
- Must be able to successfully pass a DOT Physical, Drug Test, and Background Check
Pay Rate: $25.00/hourly
