Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor daily transit operations for safe operating
practices
• Conduct ride checks, road observations, and terminal observations
• Observe operator performance and compliance with company policies
• Monitor pull-out operations, pre-trip inspections, and brake tests
• Conduct field-based Supervisor Touchpoints and operator coaching
• Ensure compliance with seatbelt, distracted driving, and ADA requirements
• Monitor pedestrian, bicyclist, and customer safety around transit operations
• Identify hazardous conditions and recommend corrective actions
• Respond to accidents, incidents, emergencies, and customer complaints
• Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations
• Gather statements, photographs, video evidence, and operational data
• Review onboard camera systems, telematics, and operational software
• Determine preventability and contributing factors
• Prepare detailed incident reports and letters of findings
• Coordinate post-accident testing and required follow-up procedures
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and corrective action development
• Provide immediate coaching and corrective feedback to operators
• Conduct post-incident retraining and evaluations
• Reinforce defensive driving principles and company safety initiatives
• Assist with safety meetings, refresher training, and safety campaigns
Perfil
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred or ability to obtain
• Minimum of 2 years transportation, safety, supervisory, or related experience
preferred
• Strong knowledge of defensive driving principles and accident prevention
• Ability to investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and operational software
systems
• Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends,
and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
• Public transit experience strongly preferred
• Experience with safety management systems and telematics platforms
• Experience conducting coaching, evaluations, or investigations
• Knowledge of FTA/DOT regulations
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and enter/exit buses frequently
• Ability to respond to field emergencies and accident scenes
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Schedule Expectations
Safety Supervisors work assigned shifts based on operational
needs. Coverage may include:
• Early morning pull-out operations
• Midday field presence
• PM peak service
• Late-night closeout operations
• Weekends and holidays
Schedules are designed to maintain continuous safety oversight across all
operating hours.
