Labor

Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure safety and D.O.T. compliance for Lake County Transit Management.

Perfil

Mechanic responsibilities and Specific Duties

·       Applies knowledge of operating principles of internal combustion engines, accessories, powertrains and chassis components and sub-          systems to all Lake County Transit Management, Inc. vehicles.

·       Assists in servicing, lubricating, removing, and replacing components and assemblies related to fuel, cooling, exhaust, engine                      performance, drivetrain, hydraulic, and suspension systems.

·       Performs corrective maintenance on selected mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and/or components.

·       Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service to ensure the safety and maintenance of the fleet.

·       Completes all maintenance forms and records.

·       Is familiar with the practices and procedures of preventive maintenance, the company Maintenance Program and shop safety.

·       Employs test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment during troubleshooting procedures.

·       Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

·       Must be able to read, write and do basic math. Must be able to understand, follow and carry out written and/or verbal instructions.

·       Must have a general knowledge of fuels and lubricants, vehicle and fuel safety procedures and cleaning materials. Additionally, must            have a thorough knowledge of and be able to :

            a.      Perform diagnostics on electrical, powertrain, suspension, mechanical systems.

            b.      Assist in the removal, repair and replacement of brakes, air valves, alternators, fuel pumps, oil sending units/transducers,                           hoses, fuel lines, drive shafts, seats, and pneumatic doors.

            c.      Assist in servicing and repair suspension systems and hydraulic systems.

            d.      Follow instructions and complete the work in a timely manner.

            e.      Working independently and in a team setting to accomplish tasks.
