Recruiter / Human Resources Generalist - Asheville, NC 

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned as necessary:

Recruitment/Retention:

·       Supports the GM/AGM and department managers (Safety, Maintenance, and Operations) by assessing manpower recruiting strategies to meet short and long-term headcount needs.

·       Establish effective communication strategies with collective bargaining employees throughout the onboarding and probationary experience for acclimation and job satisfaction assurances (one-on-one, surveys, joint meetings)

·       Participates in new and promoted employees’ discussions to advise, as the subject matter expert (SME) on RATP Dev/ART benefit packages, PTO leaves, retirement programs, etc.

·       Coordinates with RATP Dev corporate departments to resolve local support needs (FMLA, ADA, Short/Long-term Disability qualifications, etc.

·       Facilitate job fairs (internal/external) by working with various employment and social agencies to source viable candidates

·       Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks)

·       Use our applicant tracking system (ATS) to assess candidate information, resumes, and contact details not to exclude administering and facilitating all onboarding requirements, background, and drug screening, and new employee checklist are complete.

·       Develop and presents presentations utilizing PowerPoint, pivot tables, and Excel to evaluate turnover trends, promote brand awareness, and to discuss achievements/challenges.

 

Human Resources Support:

·       Provide back-up support and execution of payroll including processing, entering, and tracking payroll exceptions

·       Coordinates activities with our retirement provider for onsite access

·       Maintains and assures bargaining employee wage increases are entered and correct based upon their date of hire and seniority dates as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement (CBA)

·       Resolves non-RATP Dev personnel concern (pay, benefits, leave requests, bonuses/incentives) as a liaison between employee and management

·       Ensure invoices are properly coded and entered in the authorized system including processing non-purchase orders (Non-po) are processed for payment with Accounting

·       Maintains disciplinary records

·       Greets visitors

·       Comprehend and utilize the RATP Dev and ATU Local 128 CBA, RATP Dev Handbook, ART Policies, Rules, and Procedures, and various SOP to provide guidance and responses to employees

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

·       BS in Human Resources Management or relevant fieldwork with a minimum of 2 years is in a union environment

·       Proven work experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role

·       Advanced familiarity with social media, resume databases, and professional networks

·       Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods

·       Knowledge of an Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)

·       Ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness, generate suggestions for improving work, and develop innovative approaches and ideas.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.

·       Willing to work under tight deadlines and maintain exceptional judgment and discretion regarding sensitive matters.

·       Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels across the organization.

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with a high level of effectiveness.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS software, Outlook, Teams, Monday.com
