Santa Ynez Valley Transit operates:
Monday – Saturday | Approximately 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Shifts may vary based on service needs.

What You’ll Do
- Provide excellent customer service as the front‑line representative of the transit system.
- Safely operate transit buses through city, rural, and highway environments.
- Transport passengers courteously along assigned routes and schedules.
- Assist passengers, including individuals with disabilities and mobility devices.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic and safety regulations.
- Operate fareboxes, wheelchair lifts, communication radios, and emergency equipment.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and complete DVIRs.
- Communicate detours, delays, and incidents to dispatch.
- Collect fares, count passengers, and complete required documentation.
- Report accidents, incidents, or unusual events promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must pass a DOT physical exam
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to safety and reliability
