Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Real-Time Service Monitoring
- Monitor active microtransit service through the SPARE dispatch platform.
- Track trip progress, vehicle locations, on‑time performance, no‑shows, late trips, and missed service.
- Implement real-time service adjustments, including trip or run reassignments.
Operator Support & Communication
- Communicate with Operators via radio, tablet messaging, and phone.
- Provide guidance on routing, schedules, trip details, and customer needs.
- Coordinate vehicle changeouts, road calls, and service interruptions with Maintenance and Supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with protocols and SPARE system workflows.
Customer Service
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries and provide accurate service updates.
- Support ADA-compliant service delivery and communication.
- Escalate complex customer issues when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting
- Document no‑shows, incidents, late trips, service adjustments, and callouts in SPARE and internal systems.
- Maintain thorough shift notes and provide detailed handoff documentation.
- Ensure all trips are properly closed out and prepare end‑of‑shift operational summaries.
Safety & Compliance
- Support RATP Dev USA’s safety culture by reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Assist with accident or incident reporting following established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with VoTran policies, the Operations Manual, and ADA requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Dispatch, transportation, customer service, or call-center experience preferred.
- Experience with transit, paratransit, or microtransit operations is highly preferred.
- SPARE platform experience is a plus (training available).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge
- Understanding of microtransit or demand-response service models.
- Familiarity with dispatch operations and real-time service management.
- Awareness of ADA service requirements preferred.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a challenging environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft tools and tablets.
- Professional customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
Abilities
- Maintain composure and make sound decisions during service disruptions or emergencies.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dispatch environment.
- Sit for extended periods using multiple computer systems simultaneously.
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

We are seeking a Microtransit Dispatcher to oversee daily microtransit operations using the SPARE platform. This role ensures reliable, customer-focused service delivery by monitoring real-time activity, supporting Operators, resolving service disruptions, and maintaining clear communication across all stakeholders. The Dispatcher reports to the Operations Supervisor / Operations Manager.
The Microtransit Dispatcher manages day‑to‑day microtransit service to ensure trips run safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities include monitoring active trips, coordinating with Operators, responding to real-time service issues, supporting customers, and maintaining accurate shift documentation.
