We’re seeking an Assistant General Manager of Operations who leads with vision, clarity, and integrity. A trusted advisor to the General Manager, this role requires a strong, confident leader who understands what our clients and passengers value—and who delivers results without compromise.

Core Responsibilities

• Champion a strong, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture that reflects our United and Caring values.
• Lead operational excellence by collaborating across teams and applying industry best practices.
• Partner with Safety, Risk, and Continuous Improvement teams to uphold and advance our Safety standards.
• Support service planning, recommend schedule adjustments, and align operations with real-time service needs.
• Build productive relationships with employees, unions, clients, public officials, and community stakeholders.
• Deliver cost-effective, reliable transit services within budgetary and contractual frameworks.
• Serve as a visible, decisive leader who supports and empowers team members through mentorship and accountability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A collaborative, Effective leader with executive-level communication, presentation, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to inspire, engage, and retain high-performing teams.
• Skilled in navigating union environments and promoting positive labor relations.
• Comfortable with change and Daring in pursuit of innovation and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least five (5) years in transit operations or administration.
• Strong background in financial management, budgeting, and organizational planning.
• Familiarity with MS Office and transit-related software systems.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and integrity.
• Union experience strongly preferred.
